DRA-30 REV1 Parts List Please use this page in conjunction with the construction article, when assembling a DRA-30. NOTE: Some parts are very small and may require magnification to resolve their value. I use 2.0 reading glasses to help. An eye loupe or magnifying glass will also work. NOTE: Some capacitors have information on both sides of the part. U1 - CM119A (presoldered) U2 - NE555 D1 - BAT43 (blue / black stripe - observe polarity!) D2 - BAT43 (blue /black stripe - observe polarity!) D3 - 1N4148 (dark orange / black stripe - observe polarity!) D4 - BAT43 (blue /black stripe - observe polarity!) J1 - DB9 Female Chassis Connector J2 - USB-B Chassis Jack These headers are installed so the shorter section is inserted (soldered) into the board JU1 - 2 pin header - blue - with shorting bar or "shunt" JU2 - 2 pin header - blue - with shorting bar or "shunt" JU3 - 2 pin header - blue - with shorting bar or "shunt" JU4 - 2 pin header - blue - with shorting bar or "shunt" LED1 - 3mm Red LED LED2 - 3mm Green LED LED3 - 3mm Blue LED All LEDs orient with short lead in the square hole. (1) 8 Pin DIP IC Socket Y1 - 12 MHz Crystal - little silver can with two leads. Transistors get mounted so the body of the transistor is about 1/4 inch from the board surface. Q1 - 2N2222 transistor Q2 - 2N7000 transistor Q3 - 2N2222 transistor All resistors are 1/8 Watt. Their leads get bent sharply at the body at right angles. This allows the resistor to sit flat against the board. R1 - 4.7k R2 - 330 ohm R3 - 1k R4 - 10k R5 - 10k R6 - 10k R7 - 1M R8 - 22 ohm R9 - 22 ohm R10 - 1.5k R11 - 1M R12 - 100k Pot (104) R13 - 4.7k R14 - 1k Pot (102) R15 - 4.7k R16 - 1k Pot (102) R-PTT 1 (Optional PTT keying resistor for handhelds - for TX audio on DB9 - 1) (not supplied - normally 2k) R-PTT 2 (Optional PTT keying resistor for handhelds - for TX audio on DB9 - 8) (not supplied - normally 2k) NOTE: Components that are supplied on a "carrier" paper should have their leads cut from the carrier near the edge of the paper. Don't try to pull the component away from the paper otherwise you could damage it. NOTE: Some components have pre-bent leads and some of them will need to be reformed to allow the part to fully seat on the surface of the circuit board. NOTE: Polarized capacitor locations include a "+" (plus sign) silkscreened where the positive lead orients. NOTE: Some capacitors have numbers on both sides of the part. If something looks wrong - try flipping it over and reading the other side. C1 - 47pF small yellow MLCC (marked 47 or 470) C2 - 20pF or 22pF yellow or blue MLCC (marked 20, 200 or 22, 220) C3 - .47uF Tantalum (blue) (observe polarity!) (See below for installation note) C4 - 20pF or 22pF yellow or blue MLCC (marked 20, 200 or 22, 220) C5 - .47uF Tantalum (blue) (observe polarity!) (See below for installation note) C3 and C5 installation note: The positive lead is on the right side when the printing is facing you. C3 is installed so its printing faces C2. C5 is installed so its printing faces "U1". C6 - 10uF electrolytic (observe polarity!) C7 - 10uF electrolytic (observe polarity!) C8 - 10uF electrolytic (observe polarity!) C9 - 47pF small yellow MLCC (marked 47 or 470) C10 - 4.7uF small electrolytic (observe polarity!) C11 - 4.7uF small electrolytic (observe polarity!) C12 - 4.7uF small electrolytic (observe polarity!) C13 - 47pF small yellow MLCC (marked 47 or 470) C14 - 47pF small yellow MLCC (marked 47 or 470) C15 - .1uF .1"LS (Marked 104) (smaller yellow) C16 - 1uF Tantalum (green or yellow) (observe polarity - printing faces R12) C17 - .01uF .1"LS (Marked 103) (yellow) C18 - 1uF Tantalum (green or yellow) (observe polarity - printing faces R16) C19 - 100uF NON-POLAR (larger black electrolytic) (can be installed either way) C20 - 100uF NON-POLAR (larger black electrolytic) (can be installed either way) C21 - 4.7uF small electrolytic (observe polarity!) C22 - 47pF small yellow MLCC (marked 47 or 470) C23 - 47pF small yellow MLCC (marked 47 or 470) C24 - 100uF NON-POLAR (larger black electrolytic) (can be installed either way) C25 - 100uF NON-POLAR (larger black electrolytic) (can be installed either way) DRA-30 REV1 printed circuit board.
